Replacing cooling system - Part recommendations?

I am replacing the majority of the cooling system b/c I have Dexcool and my '00 ZR2 is overhearing. The various autoparts stores have several brands for the same part. Anyone have any experience one way or another with certain makers?

Water pump?
Radiator?
Radiator hoses?
Radiator cap?
Heater core?

First off all, don't be a moron and replace everything when you don't even know the problem.

When is it overheating?
How high does it go?

You need to do some troubleshooting b4 you blindly start throwing parts and money for no good reason.
