i have a 04 reg cab short box. i was interested in puttin on BF Goodrich all terrains. i wanted to know if anyone has these tires how do they perform, etc. and will a 285/75R/16 fit without any modification or rubbing? i have 255's right now. two tire places told me 285's were prob too big and wouldn't fit. does anyone else run this size? any pics appreciated!

285's on a 2wd might scrub inthe front...the back will be fine. If you can find a way to lift the front end a bit, then maybe they will fit, or eithr you can trim your air dam so they wont scrub... I think 265's look good on a 2wd. My signature pic is 285 Cooper A/T's they fit without any lift..

what about a 275/70R/16? do you think those would fit?
what is the difference between a 70R and a 75R anyways?
i have a 255 on there now, and i want something noticable wider, i like that look. not sure if the 265's would be that much more noticable?

Lets take a 265/75R16 for example...
THe 75, a two-digit number indicates the tire's aspect ratio. It compares the tire's inflated section height, which is the distance from the bead to the tread, to its section width (maximum). An aspect ratio of 75 means that the tire's section height is 75% of the tire's section width. For clarity, the section width in millimeters is separated from the aspect ratio by a slash (/).
In other words, its how tall the tire is...the 265 is the width.

Those are an excellent choice, as well as Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo's, the Cooper A/T's like I have are also good. I also like the Yokohama Geloander series tire.

thanks for the help. i was surprised the 275/70R were alot more $ than the 265/75R.
the 275's are like $230 a peice (CDN $$). and they 265's $190. i wonder how much a difference they would make to the 255's? thats alot of coin to only go up a size or two i thought.
