I don't have a lot of progress to show yet, but the body. I used this body as a test for spraying Cobra Colors paint (www.cobracolors.com). It came out very nice and I think I'll keep working on it. I'm also working on the Carrera GT, and it will be sprayed in a Cobra Colors paint also. Not this one though.
This body was sprayed in GRIGIO ALLOY METALLIC. (my favorite color for the 360) over Tamiya white primer.

Nice color!
I have not seen too many of these cars on the forum... but I am definitely interested in seeing this one done.
Keep it up! (and get some pics of that GT! :iceslolan )

i have a few questions about that kit
is the fitment good?
what did u pay for that?
i think i recall seeing one of those at my LHS for some thing like $13?
and i was curious if i am thinking right, or mistaking it for some thing else, cuz i do like this kit and would like to buy one
Nice color, keep us updated

Hell Yeah!
Lotus Sweetness!
I ve always wanted to see a nice build of this kit !
I suppose it s got full engine and chassis detail right! Otherwise I dont see the purpose of making a lotus model
Great colour, I might want to try cobra colours too!

The fitment of parts is very nice so far. I picked this up at Hobby Lobby's 1/2 off sale for $12 it's normally $24. I think the Lotus Super 7 kit sells for about $12, I have that one too, and it is a nice kit. Simple & small, but typical Tamiya quality.
Bigfrit - It does have full engine and chassis detail. I was actually thinking about building it curbside but there is less than 10 parts in the engine bay, so I'll put the motor in.

Looks good so far, but I can't get how that color looks.
GRIGIO ALLOY METALLIC? umm... expecting more progress then might find out how GRIGIO ALLOY METALLIC looks like actually. :p

Kunta - In these pics it really looks too blue for grigio alloy metallic. I will try some different settings on my camera to get the true color of this car. It's more silver with a light blue tint. It's been clearcoated now, so after the body is polished, and the BMF window trim is completed I will post some sunlight shots.

Thanks for the nice responses so far. :)
I updated the pics in the first post to show the color better. I changed the settings on my camera to capture it well.
I can't get over how tiny this car is. It almost fits inside the Carrera GT body. :)

Nice, Matt. The finish's tone comes across well on my PC screen. Anxious to see it complete.

Very cool Matt. I almost picked this one up at Hobby Lobby, but passed it up. Now I really wish I hadn't. It would look great sitting next to the Miura. These old exotic/sports cars are just too cool.

I have the body nearly completed. The front intake still needs some mesh, and the Lotus decal on the nose needs placed, but I always save the nose decal for last.

Beautiful bodywork! Did you use BMF for the chrome or some other technique? The trim looks very smooth judging by the pics and the paint is just awesome.

The trim was BMF Chrome.
Thanks for the comments so far everyone. :)
Now I'm on to the chassis, engine, and interior.

I've made a bit of progress on this li'l car while waiting for the paint to cure on the Carrera GT
I have built up the most unique part of this car. The space saving, and lightweight Y-frame. The front and rear supension, motor, and exhaust have been added as well.

Lots of luggage space behind the motor too. :)

Checking the stance.

I'm not a big fan of the Europa, but MAN does that look great! Hmm the Esprit I'm working on has a very similar frame, wonder why? :D

Love the color! Gotta get me summa dat! :naughty:
If I remember, I'll bring the Camel version to the meeting that I got from Po9r1s1che. Silver w/Camel markings...very cool. Maybe I'll remember my blue Modena Spider too.
