In doing a little research for another project, I found this site on soundproffing a suburban I thought others might be interested in.

Moving slowly on my headliner repair so have had a chance to look at it and think about the project more than most. Have the old one out and it is very noisy and tinny when I drive.

Am thinking about putting the spray foam in the cavities before reassembing. Anyone done this?

www.b-quiet.com has some info and examples. I ordered their
sample products. What they call B-Quiet Extreme looks like the
window sealer I buy at Lowes. Both are listed as rubberized
asphalt. The Lowes stuff has an aluminum back and sticks like
mad. It comes in rolls 4inches by 33 feet, called Tite Seal self-
adhesive waterproof flashing for windows and doors. I'm thinking the
cost is about $10. It is not as thick as the B-quiet stuff but you
can put on an extra layer.

Since it is all apart anyway, think I will try some of this.

It isn't cheap at Lowes either but at least it is handy if you
wanted to try it.

Just a thought for those wanting to try something new.
