My 94 recently got broken into and someone smashed the steering column trying to steal the truck. I wish they had succeeded. My insurance agent recommended body shop at a specific chevy dealer here in Houston. Being new to the area I listened. Turns out, a 3rd party does all ignition work for this body shop. When I got my truck back everything looked fine but sometimes the entire A/C instrument panel seems powered off even after I start my truck (A/C is actually off as well), but suddenly comes on when my truck is put in gear This 3rd party came out and "fixed" it again. They tell me the problem was traced back to a fuse. Turns out 4 days later the problem starts up again. It only happens occasionally but (maybe once a day). This doesn't sound like any fuse problem to me. Is it possible a switch in the steering column is getting jogged when the gear selector is moved? Any thoughts?
