did you check to make sure that it isn't hitting the hood?

Probably a stripped headlight gear, they're made out of cheap plastic, mine did that untill I recently replaced them with solid brass ones from http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/headlightfix/index.htm

Hey, if your broke like I am there is a cheap fix for this. Remove the headlamp motor and crack open the gear cover. You will see a worn spot in the cheap plastic gear. An interesting thin about these gears is that they only use 180 degrees of the gear, so rotate the gear around to the other side. (NOW THIS IS IMPORTANT) before epoxing the gear case shut make sure that the full movement into the up and down positions of the headlamps do not use that worn part of the gear. The worst thing to do is epoxy that case shut only to find out you did it for nothing.--hope that helps you. If you have the cash, I would definetly go with the brass gears homeskillet above was talking about.
