i was kinda thinking of getting a short throw shifter, probably the pro 5.0 or b&m ripper. but almost $200 for it is kinda expensive. also, if i got the short stick to go with the pro 5.0, thats almost $230. so is getting a short throw really worth it, or should i put that $200 towards something thatll add some power?

I put an SLP short throw on my car a few weeks ago and I am really happy with it. My main reason for getting one wasn't for racing but just to make it a little more friendly for daily driving. It did make a noticable difference in the throws, rough guess, I'd say the distance in each gear is about 3/4" less. It's not drastic but it works for me, plus the SLP shifter is $100. Another thing I like is the shifter used to be spring loaded in the spaces between 5th and 6th. With the new shifter, thats gone, and the spring between 1st and 2nd is still there. I don't have a short stick but I was kinda interested in those so if anyone has any input on those, I'm curious also.

short throws make drivin more enjoyable. other than improving your race driving, it makes putting around town easier. i drive my buddies rx-7 every now and then and i like the short throw thats in it...

Yes there great, I drove an rx-7 with a short throw, intake, exhaust and it was one of the funnest car I ever drove, and boy did it love to rev. The short throw made the experience MUCH better when trying to dip the car through back streets, etc.

I would honestly have to say, I drove my Uncle's 02 Corvette Coupe on the highway, and man it pulled VERY hard. I drive my formula all the time. But it's nothing like hauling ass down the back streets of Baltimore in the rx, 2nd around every turn...MMMmmmmm. :evillol: I wish I could throw my car around like that! I guess I havn't drove many nice cars. But the whole time I was thinking I was in a Porcshe...wonder what that would be like?!?
