Fuel in my Oil

The local mechanic who does my oil changes told me there was lots of fuel in my oil. What causes this and how do I prevent it? I just had a new fuel pump, water pump, battery, and external coil put on it. Still runs for crap, but runs. Oil pressure drops while braking or stopped. Are the two connected?

Usually the piston rings are worn and the fuel might be running rick. When the piston rings are worn and the fuel is not burned completely, it will seep through the rings and into the engine. This will dilute the oil and eventually ruin your engine, if not already ruined, for lack of lubrication. Eventually your engine will freeze.

Very possible that your fuel regulator or nut kit lines (fuel lines to the injector) are leaking, and squirting fuel directly into your intake manifold. Oil thinned out by gas may be the reason for the lower oil pressure. You need to have it checked out or it may ruin the engine. I'd say a fuel pressure check needs to be done (with a fuel pressure gage to check pressure leakdown). What year is the van?

It's a 94 with about 112,500 miles on it. It's also rebuilt, not sure when though. My brother in law is great at car related stuff, but I want to give him an idea of where to look, thanks for giving us a starting point. Any other ideas are welcome too!

its most likely the piston rings, i would check the compression on all cylinders.
