is it me or is the server not working lately

i sware that every time i'm on here i ALWAYS get the "server is too busy" message. doesn't matter what time of day. is my computer just a piece of shit or is the server just fucking with me??

I get it at both work and home at numerous times of the day and night. I have fast pcs at both ends so I do believe its the server with alot of traffic. It really goes berserk when it send you the notification that a post was made to a subscribed thread. Its annoying to say the least.

Its been giving me the message alot the last couple of minutes, it even gave it to me when I was posting the last post above. :banghead:

The worst part is when you type a whole bunch of sht and then you get the message...all of it is gone and you have to wait and try writing everything before

Not really, for some reason I've noticed that it does have a memory to remember what you wrote so long as you do not go to another page, just refresh the same page every 5 seconds or 10 and your post will not be lost. Its just annoying waiting for it to refresh and come back.

I thought it was a server but I wasnt sure...yeah how much is one? like to get a new one if we all kicked in a few $$ could we get a new one so it'd go faster

I'd be willing to help a little as well. When i tried to open this thread .... it gave me the message :banghead: .... I get it a lot too. And at all periods of the day... it's not just at a certain time... it could be at totally random times. Like once i got it at 6 in the morning and then at 11 o'clock at night.... :dunno:

i get it at 1am 3 am. its gonna be different all the time, because ppl live in different parts of the world. what may seem like a weird time to you is prime time for some one else. and 6 is when alot of ppl get up for work. and from 9-12 is most time spent on the internet for most ppl

Been happening alot lately. If you are going to type a long post just highlight it all and right-click and copy. That way you could just paste it if something happens.

Why does automotiveforums have free image hosting when obviously its having load problems?

I get it 24 hours a day... I'm lucky to makes 2 posts without getting that message in between them

yup, i get it 4/5 times.

New servers can cost 10s of thousands of dollars, or just about 2-3 thousand. Depens what brand, what kind, capabilities, a lot of other things affect price. But yes, they can be EXPENSIVE. Hell, I've seen, in person, a $52,000 server box....I coulda bought a car with that money! But yeah, if Igor wants donations, I'd be more than willing to help out. I only get the message bout 6-12 times a day.

I get it most at 6pm-12 its soooo bad, I would contribute something if it would help the cause, this is horrible I loose so many posts that I started CTRL+C every post at night!
