how fast have you been in your maxima 100mph....110mph....120mph....130mph

i've gone 136 in my 95 racing my friend's 01 CL-s Acura. and in this car i've gone about 130 racing my friends jdm b16 powered crx.

so far, i haven't really pushed it, i've gone 90-95...in my old car (a 92 Grand Prix LE) i found the top speed...110...lol :-X

ive been 125mph or more in my 1990 max...stock

i could easily hit 125 probably...im above 90 in third gear...i still have two gears to go...i just haven't pushed it yet...i kno that the car speeds up slower the faster u go, but i kno it can do at least 125

I maxed out the speedo in my '96 which I think was 120. I haven't had my '03 past 110 yet, but can't wait to see what she can do.

Speedo on a 96 maxes out at 140. I've taken my 96 to 130mph and she still had more to give.

I got my 03 all the way up to 57 mph... I think she still had some in her.

I got mine up to 115-120 i am not sure i changes time to time because of the governor. Scared to take it up all the way.:dupe:

i dunno his car does not look like an se, unless he took the spoiler off, and switched to the same size wheels. but buddy the GXE and the GLE both were governed at 125.

in my max i hit 130. after that it is a slow go. in vero beach flordia some of the streets are like 4 miles long. and so flat you can see the blinking light at the end. so you know if anyone is comming. but i hit 130 and got scared and backed off.

oh yea here is proof.....i know some of you have been faster but if any doubt....here ya go.....thanks to my girlfriend who forgot to turn the flash off!

it is made by a company called type s. they make alot of rice stuff, but i liked the mirror. i bought it at auto zone for $12. it takes awhile getting use to but once you are i cannot drive without it.

the muffler is comming next. i am getting one for free. then it will be the pullies. do the pullies make a noticable differance?

your grand prix topped out at 110 because all cars mads in the us are required to have a speed limiter programmed into the pcm, it wont allow you to exceed 110, but it can be easily removed by any pcm servicer

I'm a highway guy. I do @ least 120 every other weekend visiting family, just about all the way there 2! If I didn't It'd be a three hour drive @ least. Of course, no one likes 2 ride with me (they say I'm a speed demon 4 some reason), but I wouldn't attempt 2 drive & take a pic simultaneously @ that speed 2 prove it. I just hadn't tried 2 go faster than that. I think I drive my car hard enough as it is & have found people react funny when a car is coming @ them that fast & their only doing 75 or less. Most times instead of moving 2 the passing lane, they freeze up- or if they're already in the passing lane, they sliqhtly swerve, as if flustered from my sudden arrival. I've started slowing down 2 maybe 90 when approaching another car & am getting a casual response from other drivers. Don't get me wrong, I may be driving fast, but I still drive safe & no tickets yet after 3+ years. I wish the same 2 all of you!

I used to live in West Palm Beach...good ol Turnpike...used to routinely hit ~120 in my old 2+2 300ZX on there. Never saw cops then they just appeared one day. Couldn't speed any more...got pulled over twice. Dodged a MAJOR bullit once.

Now I have the 86 Turbo in my sig. I went down to Louiseville (yes, I live in Kenfucky) last month and decided to push it a bit. Hit a little over 130, I think...not too sure...didn't look. I just installed a boost controller so I'm gunna have to give it another go soon...as soon as I find the damn spring that fell out of my (manual) boost controller...DOESN'T WORK WELL WITHOUT IT!! Imagine that...:p

I dont drive a Max but I have a 90 lincoln Town Car... The engines were big back then but the digital odometer doesnt go over a reeding of 85MPH but I'm sure of it that I'm going faster then 85. I'm a highway man I always kick it up to 85 keep on the gas for about 40-60sec then hit the cruise control on and just cruise chillin with the 200w pionner system... :)

I forgot to say I probally kick it around 87-93 ish on the highway :)

I am heading out with a cop friend of mine to see if we can recreate the test and have him radar. There is a spot in the eastern part of the state with a highway that is as straight as an arrow for nearly 50 miles and very few vehicles--that is where we will test it.

Got my 04 to 110 easy, just barely in 4th. 100 feels like 70 in other cars.

It's going to take a lot more than 260 HP to push one to 155 given the weight and aerodynamics of the car. Stock, 155? I'll call BS on that.

Do you even know where the govenor is set at on the 04? I assumed he was at the track, since that's what we were talking about, but he also street races, so maybe the highway. He does have a CAI Injen, but doubt that was really needed to hit the very possible 150. I just love how the 6th is so underestimated.

of course not 1/4. that's around mid 90's, right? I haven't been to a track yet, but I'm not that naive. Educate me if you will. So there is only the 1/8 and 1/4 at the track? I thought maybe they tried for top speed within a whole track and not just a straightaway. I know of 04's that hit mid 14's reaching 95, but assumed they did more than that. I was giving the guy the benefit of doubt not to do something so crazy on public roads.

Honestly, I don't know what they're capable of because most of my Maxima knowledge is 4th gen related. Offhand, I'd say, no, they aren't capable of 150 in stock form. Reason being is the aerodynamics, weight and power of the car aren't enough to overcome the drag at that speed.

150 is not that outrageous. It's not even that fast. But I would have to agree, a stock Maxima most likely wouldn't get there.

Do you know how easy it is to remove it? 4th gen owners can clip 1 (one) wire and voila, no more governor. They're easy to overcome so don't start waving the BS flag.

My point was that with a gov. at 140, guess truly 142, 150 is very possible. Just relaying what one guy claimed. another said 145 and didn't realize it. So, BS, maybe, doesn't bother me since I haven't tried or claimed it myself. Funny how people automatically deny what someone says w/o any experience or proof themselves.

Help me out a bit, I've been at 110 close to 4000 RPM in 5th gear (auto) how fast can I get at redline 6500 RPM? And the MT is 6 spd. Or is that no way to determine? Would being lowered help (150 guy)?

125 in my stock 89 Auto. I got up to 120 pretty fast and then took a LOOOONG to get up the rest of the way. Then I got scared because the stock suspension is not that tight.
