Easiest way:
Remove the instrument panel, locate the airbag bulb, remove it.
BTW any warning light showing is an instant MOT failure (UK). Fortunately if u remove the bulb so it doesnt light, ur car will pass!

The light can only be reset (using special equiptment) if the problem that caused it to come one in the first place has been repaired.
If the car was in an accident and an airbag or seatbelt pretensioner has "gone off" you may have to replace the airbag ecu.
I can reset the light through my business, www.renaultbreakers.com but were based in Ireland

Hi guys
My light is on too. ECU reader tells me its the seat belt pretensioner is at fault. Playing with safety equipment is obviously best dealt with by Renault, but any ideas where i can try to locate disconnected wires or little things like that before i give in to high labour prices?

if you just want the light off you can take the clock set out remove the air bag bulb is a bit of a rubbish job have to take the top of the dash off and a few other bits but its not that hard and it works. I did the same when i changed my steering wheel. unsure bout MOT tho by the way thats on a mk1

I had the same problem with the airbag light and also the 'service' light on the dash, had a twiddle with a few of the wires & connectors under the drivers and passenger seat, and the lights did go off. sometimes if you have passengers in the back there feet could catch a cable or connector.
