disconnect batteries VS check engine light

i was wondering, how often do you guys disconnect your batter when you work on your car. because many say that there's no need unless you're workin on major ECU circuit jobs. i never disconnect mine when i work on my ie. intake or gauge hookup... etc. and it had always worked just fine. last night after i worked on my intake i forgot to plug that DAMN mas sensor back, (believe me it's not the first time) . and this morning when i fired her up.. obviously i felt a lost of power, and immediately i noticed "engine service soon" LED came on. so i turned her off and check the bay and plugged back the mas sensor and fired her up again, but then this time the engine led was still on. it stayed on after serveral tries. not only that, i noticed that she wouldn't hold boost. so took it to autozone and got the codes: 100, 105, and 110. they were each labeled, MAS circuit malfunction, Manifold Absolute pressure Malfunction and IAT (internal air temperature) circuit malfunction. so i thought FUCK ME!. took her home and several tries of plugging and unplugging the mas sensor still didn't fix it. then i thought i'd prob try disconnect the battery. BAM!. it went away. and she ran just fine after that.

i guess from now on i'll be disconnecting the battery whenever i work on electrical related.

I never unhook mine unless I am working on something like a starter. I guess I should :nono:

you screwed the ECU and it thought the MAS was fucked ;) when you dropped the bat, you reset the ECU and BAM! it reset the codes :)
