hey bo, how much do you know about motors and bikes. your opening question does not make sense and therefore you got flamed.

i dont mean to insult the guy but i'm not sure flamin anyone who is new to the forum is entirely useful. sure make fun of me once a relationship has been established but all newbies should be welcomed, even if they pose strange questions.

to Bo. all motors have cams and they make the valves move. whether they are overhead cam or pushrod. it doesn't affect the sound as far as i know. did you mean 'can bikes sound like they have a lumpy cam as with a worked V8 like your dodge?'

Terrible everyone flaming someone cuse they don't know how motor internals work. I'm sure it would be big of a doctor flaming you cuse you don't know how your internals work. We all started somewhere, he just here.

too true, im going to ask something inspired by Bo, can you get longer duration cam's? or, does performance parts for bikes extend further than a pipe?

If you narrow your question down a bit, we might be able to provide help, but your first question is like asking if dogs have tails.... there are many kinds of tails on dogs, so we need mote details before we can help you.

Please STOP using excessive ICONS, it's irritating as hell. If you asked your question in form a prudent, full sentence, we'd have the discussion rolling by now.

He wants to know if a bike can sound like a muscle car with a big cam with a lot of overlap. The brapping blurping idle that sounds agressive. If you want that the easy choice is a harley.

how can we help you if you are unsure of what your asking

94tegRS

well, I wasnt that hard on him, but opening a thread to read "Can they sound like they have a cam?" automatically makes a person come back with some kind of sarcasm. and flex asked your question im pretty sure, thats how you'd narrow it down.

"can you get an aggressive cam for a motorcycle to give it a lumpy idle?

if you want to know if you can give a bike a lumpy cam, i'm sure you can but it would become dangerous to ride. part of a bikes balance comes from the balance of the motor. it would start to get un-even wobbles and become unpredictable especially in corners. V-twins and harleys and the like naturally have a similar sound so go with one of those

what went past? a big purple giraffe?

context son, context.

more explaination is requried when you post. i'm not sitting next to you so how can i see what went past. you're making it hard to take you seriously. also you can post without quoting the previous post. only do that to make it clear as to what you're replying to. not all of us see the icons and smilies. either due to connection speed, anti-virus software or RAM available, i'm not sure yet but working on it
