I own a 1992 mitsubishi eclipse 1.8 non-turbo fwd. I need to find a catback exhaust system for it. Any suggestions would help because I cant find any systems that will fit my car, so please reply.

Go to a local exhaust shop and have the make one for you.

What diameter piping works best on a '92 eclipse with no major mods?

The guy at the exhaust shop should know generally what he can work with if you keep your stock cat. I'm sure that 2.5" is plenty for a 92 NA, but you may even be fine with a smaller diameter. If no one else on AF knows for sure, talk to the muffler shop and they will help guide you to what will flow best ;)

i think 2.5 is the best not to big not too small.

hmmm...what is stock piping for a 97 GS-T? 1.75 or something? Should i go for a 2.5 too? (2.5 all the way right, pre-cat and after-cat ?)

He has a 1.8 and you have a turbo. You can get 2.5 to 3 inch pipes, as 2.5 have run into the 11's or better. I'd get 3 inch and only upgrade once though.

For the original post, although I don't recommend spending a lot of money on a 1.8 eclipse, 2.5 pipes are going to be plenty, and any muffler the exhaust shop has and you like should do fine.

thanks for the responces, I'll probably end up going with either 2.25 or 2.5 inch piping that will probably do just fine
