1996 Spyder GS with 2.4 Liter engine.
Driving home one day, the tac went crazy..going up and down. I was able to crawl home. Checked out the plugs and the 2 middle ones are not firing. I proceeded to perform a tune-up. It's got 115K miles. Put in new plugs, cleaned out K&N air filter, new plug wires. Still the same problem. Then I went and ordered new ignition coil. Installed them and it fired up fine for 3 minutes.. then the engine vibrated again like before. I hope I didn't waste $150. Any ideas anyone?? What else can I check? Please help.

The plug wells were clean. The plugs are OEM NGKs. They were a worn somewhat but i replaced them.

Its either your cam position sensor or crank position sensor that has gone bad

A mechanic buddy of mine looked it over and he found out that it's an electrical problem. A wire was rubbing against the chasis and was worn thus causing a "short". sheesh!!
