Just out of curiousity i was wondering what you all thought the best engine ever made is. my personal opinion goes to the 350 for its versatility and reliability.

I agree, the 350 is about as good as they get.

If you are talking GM engines it would be the 283,327 and 350 first generation small block without a doubt. It is still the most popular engine used in street rodding today whether they are Ford, Chrysler or GM cars.

Small block Chevys are definetly very popular. The 350 is probably the most popular as well. And so I have to vote for it as well. It can make tons of power, and is very reliable (and easy to work on too).

The 350 hands down. I don't think there's ever been an engine tinkered with or modified successfully more.

I have never had a better truck or engine than my 89 sierra with the 350

Lets talk about abuse for a minute.
AND DON'T TRY THIS ON YOURS (I DON'T RECOMENDED IT)
this truck is a 1/2 ton 2wd I regularly tow 10k + with it, I change the oil every 30 to 40k miles whether it needs it or not.

At this point you are saying well it must have under 100k on it.
well this truck has a whopping 300k miles on it and has never had any internal engine work.... NOT EVEN A TIMING CHAIN!

You will have to pry these keys from my cold dead fingers.

Chevy 350s ROCK!

UH....you only change the oil every 30,000miles??? WOw..I change mine every 3K...I'd do it on the side of the road as soon as it hit 3,000 if I could, but thats not practical.
