Here is my Tamiya Ferrari Testarossa. This kit was a bit experimental since it's praticly all airbrushed. I still have lot of thing to learn with this nice toy.

That's because it's the only one that seems having been designed by you!!!:p
-Just a friendly joke- I love this car too, and you did it justice, Vric! Seems like you had a nice result with your airbrush! +nice details in the engine bay... :naughty:
Thanks for sharing the pleasure!

Nice finish on this one.
The Testarossa is definately my all time favorite Ferrari.
The lights on the front of the car have 3 small panel lines, that once filled in add some realism to them. I think the box art higlights the lines.

K i got a question for the body what paint do you use, I use tamiya paint and thin it out with thinner then spray with 30psi, is that too much ?
I get a fine orange peel and trying to sand it off but the sand paper rubs out the paint too much, so I use compound that did not work well either, and what clear coat do you use?
thanks

Paint is a small 7.4ml bottle of Testor 2732 Chrysler Engine Red (sound strange, but it look very good  )
There is about 6 to 8 mist coat (I didn't count), paint is thinned with enamel thinner about 2/3 (from hardware store for 3$ for 4L)
I worked at about 8-14psi at about 2" of the model and the airbrush triger not even at medium (half)
There is no clear coat at all. Only thing I used is Meguiar's deap crystal Carnuba wax
btw, My airbrush is a Badger Anthem

Thanks, I think I will try to use a smaller psi think that is why i get the super fine orange peel, is almost to the point is like fine rough surface after my paint.

then spray with 30psi, is that too much ?
I tried to spray at 30psi too, since I have seen few tutorial on the web about that, but it end up using much more paint for nothing. My whole spraybooth was red whyle the car was still with a very fine coat. Then I tried working at 10psi and it was much better

You cannot top a red Testarossa! Looks very, very good. Panel lines give it a smooth and realistic look.

Wow! Looks great.
that whole "whole spray booth was red, but only light mist on the car" thing was funny, I only spray above 15 when cleaning out the airbrush with cheap glass cleaner from wal-mart (which works great with ACRYLICS by the way!)
But, I do have a little bit of constructive criticism about the exhausts, they could look a little more metal or something, but I'm not sure what it is....maybe it's algae growing on them? Somebody leaves their ferrari in the garage and humidity too much..lol. But other than that, the rest looks awesome!!!!

are you talking about the pipe on the engine that look yellow ? If so I know they are bad, I used yellow clear insted of orange and the paint was too thiner so it runned. I usually get good result on wettering the engine, but this time it was a miss

Yeah, I meant the headers, they just looked a bit odd. But, I'm nitpicking, so don't take it too seriously! Nice Testarossa anyways!
