I am in the process of painting my interior and i removed the door panel with no problems, even though i only found out that i cant really paint the parts that i wanted bc the door panel pieces are like melted together so i would have to break those clips that have been melted (not melted by me but thats how the car was made, im assuming anyone that has taken thier panels off knows what im talking about) and then remelt the plastic together, and i dont trust myself to tape enough of the panel up so that i dont paint the parts that i dont want to, but my question is, if i want to paint my window crank, how do i get the little knob off (the part that you hold that spins so you can roll down the window). I figure its best to remove this little part bc the paint woldnt be very even on the entire knob if i dont and everyone will touch it so the paint will just wear off anyway. Thank You!

I know there are little prong things on the back of the knob, (like 3 of them that seem as if they need to be pressed inorder to push the knob off), i tried taking a screwdriver and pushing them together to squeeze the knob off but it didnt work, i even got someone to help me push them with another screwdriver but still didnt come off. Hasnt anyone done this before??
