scared shitless (sorry for posting twice)

i recently (friday night) totalled my camaro w/ four of my friends in the car, running from a cop for going through a stop sign. i'm being charged with running form a police officer, 4 cases of reckless endangerment, and something else. i am only 17. there were no other cars in the accident, and noone was seriously injured. I NEED HELP. i go to court august 9th at 9 in the morning. i am nervious as hell. anything i can do to help myself in court? i've never been, and i don't have any clue as to what i should do. my mom is hiring a lawyer for me. anything i can do to possibly get the charges reduced? any help is seriously appreciated.

my mom is going to see the lawyer in the morning. i dunno exactly what's going to happen. it's making me really worried, and depressed thinking about what can happen. that's why i'm trying to inform myself before i have to go.

i was scared, straight up, and i didn't think. i was not drinking, i was completely sober, as was every person in my car. again, thanks to all of you for everything you've said. i'll have pics up soon, hopefully.

Aight man well heres my semi-educated opinion. Go with your mom to the lawyer, tell him/her EVERYTHIGN that happened. Every little detail, whether u wanna admit to it or not, tell the lawyer. the more informed they are the better case thay can make. I HIGHLY doubt you'll go to juvie or jail, they basically never do that. i DO think you will have a suspended license...in Nj the usual time for suspension is 30-90 days, but they'd prolly stretch it. Maybe 6 months to a year or more? looking at huge fines and point. You definately want to show them how regretful you are and that you've at least learned some lesson. I dunno how good friends you are with the ppl u were with, but if they'd come testify for you that would probably help hugely. Good luck man.

one time i was waitin for my buddy outside of his apartment complex and someone called the cops for some odd reason. it was like 10 at night and i was still in my uniform cause i just got off work. well this one girl walked past my truck and asked me if i had a cigarette so i gave her one and i was 16 at the time. well when i gave it to her the cop turned his lights on.she threw the cig back at me..i didnt even see him pull up..so all of a sudden i look behind me and there are 2 police SUVs and 2 cop cars. the 2 SUVs had their spotlights on the back of my head and one of the cops had his flashlight shining in on me through the passenger side. the cop asked me if it was my cigarette or did she just give it to me so she wouldnt get in trouble..i told him it was hers and he said thats what i thought. didnt make much sense really but whatever. she got a ticket for the cigarette. but neway. it was crazy. 4 cop cars just for me when i wasnt even doin nething wrong? what is that all about? seriously it felt like i was on cops or something. im sure if we had a helicopter they woulda sent that out on me too.

well, it is a fairly bad corner. i don't know exactly how fast i was going. i must've been going really fast, cause i realized i couldn't make it at that speed, and i slammed the brakes. i started going around the corner, with my brake pedal pressed, really hard, something that is not advised. i'm not an experienced enough driver to handle situations like that, obviously, or else i would've stopped. when it rolled, i lost the glass from the back window & i lost the passenger side ttop, which was locked. when i started sliding, i was prolly going like 75, i dunno, though

i got arrested b/c the police thought i stole my car...

left this bad neighborhood after picking up my bros girl for dinner at our house...2 police cars followed and i saw them reading my tags at the stop light...got across the street from NCSU and they pulled me over into the localnews parking lot...officer walked up and told me my 30 day tags had expired and got my id and inurance...walks back to my car and says that my car is reported stolen in SC...i show him my loan papers but i have to go back to his car...the other squad car comes and to officers surround my car with guns about to be drawn...my bro and his girl have to get out and i get cuffed...by this time the news people are coming out asking the police questions...i go down to the station, my car gets towed and my stuff put in paper bags...i get let go a few hours later and about 2 weeks later i get my car...

found out the car was repo'ed and the person reported it stolen...dective said they were doing their job but i still had to pay to get my car from impound

How I got my street racing ticket was, it was about 1:00 AM, and my friends and I pull up to a light on a deserted main street heading out into the country. We decide what the hell, lets race, since he had just gotten his Trans Am. We take off and apparently there were 3 county mounties sitting in a 7-11 parking lot on that corner, eating doughnuts or harrassing teenagers. We take off and go about 5 miles through back roads with other cars behind us, when they finally catch us I find out that it's the same Sherriff that busted up a party I had at my house.

I should be able to keep my liscence, since the other guy got it droped down from a 12 point "contest of speed" to a 3 point speeding ticket. And he has 1 speeding, and 1 steet racing already.

You'll be fine, just make sure to dress really nice for court, point that fact out that you have no prior accidents, tickets, were never arrested ect. Tell them your doing good in high school (goes a long way) and that your planning on attending college. Make yourself look as good as possible. You or your insurance comapny will have to pay the damages and you will have to go with a high risk insurance now, about 100-200 a month. As long as they didn't find any crack or meth, and you had no cigarettes and you wern't drinking, you'll be fine. I couldn't image community service.

Dude kiss your Licsense good by for at leats a year man. If you hadnt wrecked the car or had people in it you would have been fine but since you endanger 4 peoples lives and your young they will get you good to teach you a lesson. What good will it do to slap your hand and say "bad boy"? thats just like saying please go do it again and I dont think theres that many courts that will do that. The courts will look at it as if you had almost killed the people in your car and unless you have a good attorney theres not alot you can really do about it. Trust me I understand about being scared of the police but you had 4 witnesses in the car with you so the cops wouldnt have done anything. Also as the others have said you need to kiss alot of ass with your freinds's parents and get them on your side cuz if only one of them is pissy about it you could do some time and get sued aswell. I'm not trying to scare you but I'm not goint to sugar coat it either. I doubt you will only get a fine and probation, you'll get that and more since there were others involved and the fact that you actually wrecked your car.

The only thing that will help you is if you have a clean record. Your lawyer will probably bring up your grades in court if you have honor roll, so that may help. Since your so young the judge is gonna try to teach you a lesson and make an example out of you for others. I would say without a doubt you are going to lose your license until your atleast 25 and have a buttload of fines, plus it will be hard to find insurance in the future, cheap insurance anyway. You will probably get some type of community service/jail/juve time. Depending on the mood of your judge. If hes in a good mood he may look at the fact that you hurt your friends and think you've learned your lesson from that or if hes in a bad mood he may look at that and get even more upset and give you some time to think about what you did. I've been to court a few times and a judge is usually hard on younger kids so be ready for anything. The fact that you ran from the cops for running a stop sign is gonna make him wonder if you were doing something else wrong plus you wrecked your car and harmed the lifes of others, you can almost count on the judge being pissed after that. Not to mention the laws you broke while running. Court is really to make money they take all of us kids who were pulled over for stupid shit and slap fines on us. If you kill someone they will let you off cause there is no money in that for them put speeding tickets etc. are a great source of income for those bastards. im pretty sure they dont care. theres a park outside of the high school but its not high school property and kids would stand there before and after school and smoke. Helping the elderly.
Enroll in some driving classes early. And point out that you decided to take care of things yourself.
Tell them your on sports/adameic courses after school. Tell him you don't smoke and don't drink, and that you have no prior record. And offer to suck his fat juicy cock "under the table"... haha! I would write to there parents about your use of poor judgement and make it heartfelt and at least take them out to a nice dinner (have the parents drive).

Yeah cops in MN are bastards like that too. My friend has been pulled over 42 times! (shes counted) and has had one ticket out of all of them. I think it was failure to yield or something. She would be going 80 over and they would let her go multiple times. Same cop and everything. I think it had something to do with her gigantuan chest though. I have been pulled over one time for "running a stop sign" which i didn't even run, got a $173 ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign and an ilegally loud exhaust, yet i see motorcylces that are at LEAST three times as loud as my truck every day. And for your problem i would say you are basically screwed pretty bad. Running from the cops is almost the worst thing you can do unless you know you can get away, but who knows maybe you'll get lucky and just have probation and fines. My uncle has done worse than what you did and hes almost 40 now. He just got some kinda "risk insurance" that was around $600 a month, and a years probation. But that was for doing something worse than what you did, plus he was around 34 when it happend. Anywho good luck with that. Court sucks balls.
