lately while driving the dic. will display service vehicle soon. i thought it kind of odd but it has been doing this for a few weeks. some times 2-3 times per trip (without shuting the car off) every thing appears to be fine. trans fluid, oil, brake fluid and coolant are all on the money as well as being new. alternator working fine good oil pressure new air filter full tune up and new brake pads and rotors all the way around. only thing i see is that i need a new fuel filter and that when it displays that message the rpms run around 200 higher than normal(when stoped @ idle).

oh yae she is a 96 with no mods and the s.s. fuel rail recall performed

Definitely needs a scan of the PCM, get to an OBDII scanner and pull the codes, its the ONLY way to find out whats wrong here.

she has no codes its not the ses light but the driver info center. she goes "ding ding" and displays service vehicle soon. i can press the recall button and (sometimes) will say the same thing, or will say monitored systems ok.

Did you have the problem before the fuel rail mod?
If not check the FPR, the dealer had to remove it, to do the mod.
Two weeks after the mod was done on my car, I found a fuel leak at the FPR. Called the dealer, he couldn't really help me. Told me not to drive the car!! I took it apart & found an o seal not properly seated. I consider myself very lucky to have found the leak before I had a car fire.
I would also check all electrical connections in the area of the mod, to be sure they are fully engaged.
If not check the FPR, the dealer had to remove it, to do the mod.

how hard do you drive your car? I've had that sometimes when i throw it in drive really quick after being in reverse and the car slams into gear. , Im trying to break my tranny the rest of the way, I dont have drive (only goes up to 3rd) and the shop wanted 1200 to fix it, I bought a used one with 50k for 570 and have someone going to put it in for 350.

are you replacing your axles, motormounts, bearings, suspension mountings, torque converter, sub frame, all these things are suffering as a result of your "trying" to break the transmission.

I have never seen this display before, but last week I took my car in because the brakes weren't working right and they said I needed a brake booster. While we were waiting for that part I got the fuel rail recall fixed. My car was at the two different shops for about 9 days (I was out of town). Go to pick up my car and ding, ding, I hear the two dings and the display reads SERVICE VEHICLE SOON. I thought nothing of it, figured it was something they tripped when they fixed something and just had to recall the display. I hit the recall button and drove off. Now, five days later, the display still reads that when I start the car. I can hit recall and it goes away, but always comes up when you start the car and always dings at me. Took it in to the shops today and they found a fuel pressure gauge busted, which I guess explained why it took a few seconds to start, had to hold the key to get it to fire. Still have the display though and the dealer who hooked it to the computer said their was a brake switch shut off. The other shop checked that, not the case, but I did have a brake light out (we were gasping at straws here), still have the display. Another weird thing, the guy who hooked it to the computer said that the display indicated that it came on at 86K, I have 135K on the vehicle and have never seen it before. PLEASE HELP! And let me know if the dealer who did the recall caused my fuel pressure gauge to go. I was having absolutely no problems with it running or starting funny until after they "fixed" it.
