I just bought a brand new RSX Type-S and i want to put performance parts in it but i still want it to look the same. I also dont want to spend to much money but i want quality parts, that will actually work good. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

How much are you wanting to spend?

Wowza, yet again.
You need to give more info.
Turbo? Supercharger? NOS? NA? Emmissions Testing, does it matter (probably does)? Cost? Daily driveability/practicality?

start with the suspension...but find out what you want to do 1st...
lets say u want to go turbo in the future...then it'd be a waste of money to get a cat back and a cai...
figure out what u want to do then ask questions

Yeah, what he said. With a turbo you can't do headers or CAI or a few others, so you need to decide which path you are going to take and about how much total are you willing to spend.

I believe this is the part where you respond, Aj.

For under $2000 you can get the following:
SRI or CAI - $85-260
Hondata4 - $500
Headers - ~$200?
Sway bars - ~$200-300?
Strut bars - ~$100-450
Better tires - ~ $400
Lowering springs/struts - up to $1-2k range
Limited slip differential - up to $1k
New clutch/flywheel - ~$1k
Big break kit - $1-2k (need bigger wheels for this so price will ultimately be over $2k)
There's a lot you can do under $2k. You do need to decide which way you're going because if you turbo the SRI/CAI, headers, and Hondata4 flash will be useless like crazy said.
Crazy and others, correct my ranges if they seem wrong or just way off! :uhoh:

First, you're gonna want to punch speed holes in the hood to make the car go faster...

comptech is the way to go on the performance parts for a type s. it also depends on how far you are going to go with the car. little expensive but well worth it. for the computer Hondata is a good one to go with as far as tunning options go they are very open on the hondata

Comptech isn't the way to go. Their Icebox's gains are below par and their S/C is taking forever.

Comptech header, I like. Canuck's right about the IB, it's restrictive. That is, unless you punch speed holes in it...

Comptech's header is pretty good, but:
DC has better gains at a cheaper price
TODA has the best gains but is handmade so it'll cost you two livers and a lung
J Racing can have a chance at passing emmisions and is optimized for their S/C.

YES! And a massive graphics package.
Canuck- I like Toda, too...but have grown extremely fond of my various organs. As far as DC is concerned, I've heard some negative feedback regarding quality. But I suppose that is to be expected when costs are kept on the low end. Havent heard a whole lot about J Racing, though. What's the word at ClubRSX?

The DC Sports originally had problems, but I don't hear of them anymore. I think they released a revised version.
Jackson Racing's headers were tuned for the supercharger, so that probably won't be the best option.

Man, I should take your advice! NOT. :grinno: In that case, I guess I should take out my front and rear windshield and just wear a helmet, hey? :grinno: :grinno: :grinno:
