Problem with AMP

I am trying to set up my system. I have two 12" kenwooeds in a sealed box and a 1200 watt sony explod amp. I ran the power wire from the battery (fuse too) to the amp, ran the rca cables from the deck to the amp. My problem is the remote yurn on wire. I hooked it up to the 10amp fuse that keeps the cd player going (when the fuse isnt in the deck wont turn on) but the amp wont turn on. I dont know if the wire is getting a connection but I wrapped it around one arm of the fuse and shoved it back in... the cd player works though.

I have 2000 grand am se coupe and a Panasonic MP3/WMV player (cq-df583u)

Any help would be appreciated.

I have the ground under a bolt behind the fabric of the trunk. The wire is of the same gauge as the powerwire.

I would recommend looking on the headunit for the "remote turn on connection"
in the mean time, just run a wire from the remote to where the power is connected on the amp to see if it turns on at all

The amp does not turn on when the remote wire is coming from the power wire. I checked my ground to make sure it was connected properly and it still doesnt work. I used a friends amp whom I knew worked and the only thing that would happen is the amp power light starts to come on and dies immediatly. I am thinking about moving the ground to another location and try again.

Are you blowing fuses?

when you bolt down the ground try to use a surface that is bare as possible, sand down to the metal if necessary

connect the remote wire from the amplifier to the positive power to the amp, if it turns on, turn your deck on and listen for sound... if you hear sound hook the remote wire back to the deck. if you dont hear sound then you grounded out the remote wire from the deck and it wont hold current.

2 things one this thread is old as hell, its over 2 years old.

second check the subs sounds like either loose wires or its shorting, is the amp still on or is it the protect light.
