i own a `99 silverado 4 wheel drive.
i just finished a complete brake job a few weeks back. i took a friends suggestion and replaced all four rotors and new pads all the way around. the stock rotors do not seem to take to resurfacing too well,so i went with new ones.
i purchased all of the parts from a "AUTOVALUE" parts store. the rotors were USA made and i purchased the premimum brake pads. the total amount was $235.00.
as for ease of installation, all bolts are EXTREMELY TIGHT. you will need a half inch socket set with a cheater pipe to loosen the bolts, unless you have access to some powerful air tools. the rear rotors have a small parking brake drum in them,so be careful when you yank them off.make sure the parking brake is off when pulling on them.
i hope this is helpful, and if you have any questions, feel free to reply here or by email.
good luck,eh?:)
