How do you get sound from deck- to amp- then to speakers?

I am buying a new CD deck to replace my factory radio. I need to know what to get because I have nice speakers and an amp to power them, but all of this pre amp outputs or whatever is cofusing me. What is the best way to get my sound from the deck to the amp and then to the speakers? I'm new at all this stuff, so any help would be great.

1st you will want pre amp outputs in your new deck. They will be RCA jacks in the back. To get sound from this to the amp simply run 2 RCA cables from the deck to the amp. Usually you have to buy the RCA cables because they don’t come in the amp kit. Then from the amp to subs it will either be another RCA cable or plain speaker wire, this you will have to buy. Now for the speakers there will be the speaker connection right in the wiring harness. FR, FL, RL, RR (Front left, Rear Left etc) these you will match to the speakers inside your car.

getting a system professionally installed is a waste of money, unless you make so much that you would actually lose money by spending 5 hours on an install instead of paying several hundred dollars to have it done at a shop. Not to mention, shops take as many shortcuts as they possibly can on your install, regardless of the consequences. If you install it yourself, you'll do it right because you actually care about how well it's done.

:iagree: Instructions are very well done with most components you buy nowadays. Just read and follow. It is very simple. Back in my highschool days I loved messing with amps, decks, speakers, etc. It is easy if you just read the directions an follow what they tell you. GL and HF.
