B18 alternator...

alternator is bad on my LS.. i've done EF with Dseries where they come right out the bottom but i can't get it to. i've removed the PCV can and the oil filter as well but i cannot fit it past the int. shaft. anyone had luck getting it out easily? i'd rather not pull my driveaxle and shaft, nor the master cyl to pull it out the top cause i don't have help to bleed the brakes hehe.
