Pitman Arm

Hello All,
I have a 95 Grandmarquis, and today while changing the oil I noticed that the linkage on the end of the pitman arm is very loose and has about 1/2 inch of movement. This movement is on the opposite end of the pitman arm that attaches to the steering box. I was wondering if this is an easy job to do yourself or should a mechanic do it ? Also, do you have to buy the whole pitman arm or can I just replace the joint itself ?

Thanks for repsonses in advance.

On the steering box side? I'd check the steering box to make sure the play isn't there. As far as replacement, I haven't seen a joint to put in there, it would pay to replace the entire part, as you'll get the joints from both ends with it. It's not a tough job, but you will need a "crow's foot" or joint separator to remove it.
