90 CRX Fuel System

I am experiencing what I believe to be some kind of fuel system problem in that it starts hard (turns over several times before starting), won't keep a steady idle speed no matter how many times I adjust the timing and reset the air flow and idle speed and set it at 1000rpm. It continually hunts for an idle speed and surges between 500 & 1100 rpm. It also seems to be running extremely rich and has lost power and pull. I am running a stock 1.5 ltr. with an MSD ignition, header and 2-1/2"exhaust and a custom aair intake system. When I first added additional bolt ons it ran great, but for some reason it has never run the same since I replaced the timing belt. (Belt is on correctly and timing is also correct. Any ideas? Thanks 90CRXTC

sounds as though timing is off, how did you go about checking it?

As there is no timing belt cover, I had to rely on experience and sound. I'm sure the timing may be off a degree or two but would that lend credence to it's inability to maintain an idle? The engine runs smooth and there is no backfire. It runs good at the top end, but just doesn't seem to have the pull it once did. Any other ideas? Maybe something to do with the injectors or throttle body? I ask as I have very little experience with these items.
