People might be able to help you more if you let us know the year and model of the Quest and which radio you have.
It sounds to me like your receiver is on it's last leg. That is, unless you just had work done on the van, which would mean someone might have damaged a stereo wire.

I seen so many Nissan Quests with Displays not working, I wonder why there was never a recall
Mine hasn't worked since the second year I had the car new.
The display will work only in the deep cold weather.

I'm the one with the 2000 Quest engine nightmare. The first problem I had with my car was the display. It happened in the first year that I owned the car. The dealership told me that it was not covered under my warranty (which I now know is a lie) and it was going to cost me over $200 to fix it. I decided not to and have been driving around four five years not knowing what time it is or being able to see my radio station numbers. That should have been my first clue about how I would be treated by my dealership and Nissan. My advice to you is to get it fixed and make them cover it and watch out for what lies ahead. Like I said in my message, I have never been treated in such a sleazy manner by any company. Good luck!

I had the same problem with my 2000 Quest. There is a site where they will give you the info on how to fix it (for a fee).

Now I don't know if there is a connection with this story I am about to tell.
My speedometer stopped working the other day. It also started to run very rough from time-to-time. I had my mechanic run a diognostic on the OBDII scanner. It said the speed sensor (no more speedometor cable these days) and the anti-knock sensor was in need of replacing. He reset the code for the computer on the vehicle. The speedometor works now and it runs fine without even replacing these parts. By the way, my radio display which hasn't worked for over a year suddenly works fine now.
Stay tuned. (no pun intended).
