2000 Accord V6 Oil Pan Removal

I need to remove and reseal the oil pan on my 2000 Accord V6.

I can not tell what else has to be removed to get the pan off, but it sure does not look like I can get the oil pan off without removing some other things.

It has been leaking since I had the Timing Belts replaced a few months ago. I have no idea how the oil pan could start leaking when the timing belts are replaced, and maybe it is just a strange coincidence, but...

The funny thing is that when I look at the seal around the oil pan, it does not look like it was installed by the robots at the factory that I would assume installed it in the first place, it looks like it has peaks and gaps in it, which a machine would not do.

The shop that installed the timing belts tells me that they do not need to touch the oil pan with the timing belt replacement, which I tend to believe, unless something strange went wrong?

Regards,

Robert Tully

did you notice if there was a leak from there or any other place before. i would try degreasing the engine first and drive it a few days to see if is actually coming from the oil pan or somewhere else or even at all. unless it is your oil pan w/out a doubt...then i would check around before tearing out the oil pan.
