Infinity speaker - front

I have a 94 T&C with Infinity system. The right dash speaker fades in and out. In following the threads here and elsewhere it appears the front speakers do not have the built in amp like the door and rear ones. Is that correct? My dealer quotes $110 for a single front speaker for this vehicle. Will a generic front speaker work with this system? The last thing I want to do is spend the $110 (non-refundable of course) and find it's not the problem.

You have probably got one by now but someone doing a search might find this helpful.
I needed an Infinity door speaker. Took it out and took it to the junk yard and got one for $15.00

You can go to www.crutchfield.com and look for compatible speakers. There prices seem a little high but consider that the necessary adpaters and install instructions are included.
