Overheating

I have a 1990 Jeep Cherokee and it overheats. I pretty sure it is the electronic fan but I cannot located the relay to the fan. The Chilton's does not tell me the location of the relays or switches to the Electronic fan. Right now I have a wire hooked up to the fan and the accesorie so that every time you start the car it continueously runs so the car will not overheat. Any ideas would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,
Catherine

I have a '94 XJ and it would always overheat when I first got it. My electric fan worked so I went down my list. I tried to buy a Flex-Fan but I could not find one to fit it. Then I removed the thermostat. That helped a little, but was not a permanent fix. I then swapped out my OEM radatitor with a 3-row high performance one. When I took the stock one out and compared it to the new one, there was certainly a difference in thickness. I put in and along with new coolant and it has not overheated in 2 years. I got the radititor for $135 from an online shop
