98 s-10 starting problems

I can't tell you much about my vehicle. I drive it. that's about it. My parents bought it for me when I turned 15 about 5 years ago. Anyways

It's a 98 S-10 (the really small one) it's a stick shift and all that.
Anyways. I had my clutch replaced a few months back. The thing has like..close to 70,000 miles on it. Anyways....so I knwo it's not the clutch.
Okay so..tonight, I had to go pick up some stuff for mom and my stepfather. So I get back from town and I drive out to the horse trailer, cause my sister has a show tomorrow and I was buyign stuff for it. When I tried to turn the engine back on, poof, it wouldn't turn.
A few months ago (Right after the clutch problem) I was coming back from school, and the engine randomly wouldn't turn on. I had one of the students parents look at it, and he said the terminals weren't tight. So he finger tightened them, and said it would be fine for the hour and a half drive home. I never really tightened them, but I told my mechanic to, I dont' know if he did or not. Anyways, I checked that, and they were fine. We tried to jump it, that didn't work. It's probably not the battery anyways, because all my lights are working.
When I start it, there's a very faint noise.
A friend suggested spark plugs, and the noise was the fan starting. Or the starter went bad. Or fuses.

Any ideas? Especially cost wise, as I am a college girl.
