91 Silhouette door handle night mare

On my 91 Silhouette the drivers side and passanger side door handles wont open the door from the out side any longer I took it to a shop because removing the door panel and trying to reach the door assemple was a big pain for me when I fixed it the first time so I figured I'd replace the entire assemple and be done with it but low and behold after about 1 month same thing now the car mechanic might have screwed me and not replaced them but I havr never had a problem with his work before and been going to him for 5 years now.

Is there any way to fix the door assemble to stop the outside handle from not working inside handle is fine its just he out side handle can't figure out what the problem is?

There is a little plastic clip that holds the door latch rod into the opening mechanism. You can buy replacements at ANY auto parts store...
