Use Dexron III or better ATF fluid, don't bother buying the best name brand if it's gonna leak out anyway. You could have just asked someone at the parts store but good thing to ask here too because I witnessed an auto parts store employee give bad advice a while back. A lady came in to the store and was in the aisle looking at different fluids. A helpful, or so he seemed, employee approached her and asked if she needed any help. She said, "yes, I'm looking for clutch fluid for my car" he then replied, "Clutch fluid?" she replied, "yes I have a stick shift and my clutch fluid is low" he then replied, "this is for your transmission" she said, "yes for my clutch", so he said, "you use gear oil for your tranmission" she said, "gear oil for my clutch? I thought it took clutch fluid" he told her, "For your manual tranmission you just need gear oil." She then agreed and allowed him to hand her a gallon or so container of gear oil as they did not have a smaller quantity. I was witnessing this all and was hoping he would eventually give her what she really needed but when he gave her the gear oil I could not let her take it and put it in her car. I stepped in just as he was leaving her to help another customer. I informed her that she wanted brake fluid for her hydraulic clutch. The guy noticed me readvising her and listened in. She thanked me and wanted to know if she needed any specific type. I told her just DOT 3 brake fluid. Had she actually put gear oil in her car like that she would have contaminated and otherwise damaged her car to the point of a very costly repair. So moral of the story is you can't always trust your auto parts person.

thanks, Well at least i know which fluid i need... now all i need to figure out is where to fill it... I hate this car for that there's nothing say "automatic transaxle fluid fill cap" or somehting to that effect

I personally would never ask someone at an automotive store, or at least the ones by me, they are all a bunch of incompetant morons... Lets put it this way On my 88 the front frame is damaged... i brought the car to an auto parts store to have the wheels aligned. the guy preceeded to tell me that he couldn't do it since the frame was bent... then when i toldhim that it had nothing to do with a wheel alignment he proceeded to tell me that i need new axles etc... which was far from the truth... I drove away pissed needless to say
