tach problems need help

i have a 90 240sx with an sr20det swapped into it, my tach now no longer works and i have the cluster from the 180sx that goes with the sr20det, additionaly i have a cheap sunpro tach i figured would be easier to hook up for now, but i'm not real formiliar with direct coil ignition systems, i need any info that would help me get either tach working cause i need a tach

and i have already tried to search and havn't found anything

I did the SR swap in an 89. You have to make sure the tach wire is attached to the computer, not to where ever it goes in the KA24e. I had to move the wire to the computer harness to pin 3 (third pin on the top from the left, in the big pin section) it is a yellow and red stripe wire. If it alreadt there, make sure your tach is right. The 180sx came with two motors, CA18DET and SR20DET. The one tach wont work with the other. The CA tach has a dashed red line from 7000-7500 rpms then a solid one from 7500 on. The SR tach has just a solid line from 7500.
