I own a 91 mgm and I found a way to get some free hp by removing the center post in the maf. This is for the metal maf's not plastic! Make sure you dont disturb the maf sensor. I put a peice of tape on each side b/c I didnt have to tool to take it out. It took a total of 15-20 min to clean, cut, and sand. The out come was, the engine was louder and a bit faster.

Here is a link with detailed illustration in modifying th MAF for a 4.6L.
Other mods too!

I have not tried it yet, but plan to. I will either use a Marauder MAF or get one from the bonedyard to play with just in case I need to switch back.
