98 gp door lock problem

my gf owns a 98 grand prix se and had an amp and sub put in. somehow, the little anoying ding when u hit the door locks from the inside to lock her car got shut off. there is no owners manual availible and i tried the trick for my 04 grand am and it didnt work. does ne one know how to turn this feature back on???
