boost ?

So I have an aftermarket boost gauge, the problem is that the tube running from it to the T-junction keeps getting blown off, I used RTV silicone to seal it and it blew off again. So that sucks, but when it is working, it will show up to 14psi at times. In high gears like 5 and 6, if I floor it, the boost goes to 13 or 14 and holds for a bit, it isn't just a spike...would a boost leak cause this...or am I really running 14psi? Also, I'm getting around to installing my MBC, can I even turn up the boost to 14.5 if I am already hitting 14 in 5th or 6th gear. I don't hit that high in lower gears... Please tell me it is just a bad read due to boost leaks

Are you using the shitty plastic line Autometer ships, or vacuum hose?

the damn autometer plastic hose is running from the gauge to the T...I really don't want to run the damn tube through the dash again...but if it will help I have extra vacuum hose lying around now.

I would STRONGLY recommend it. you can just tape the end of the rubber hose to the end of the plastic hose, and pull from the engine bay. :)

OK, I'll do that...but I'm still wondering...does anyone else boost to 13 or 14psi stock in higher gears? Because if I'm boosting to 12psi normally, and hitting 13 or 14 at those points...then if I turn my boost up 2psi with a MBC, then I will hit 15 or 16psi at those levels, and get in all kinds of trouble from that.
