Have you checked the power switch in the trunk?
It's by the power antenna...
hope that is the cure...

Interesting post. Sounds like the compressor may have been working overtime when the O-ring failed and blew a fuse.

Sounds to me like the vent solenoid in the compressor is jammed up. However you can check your system for leaks in the meantime by pumping up the air bags manually and then turning the switch off in the trunk. If you have questions on how to do that just post back.

To mannually pump up the air bags you must put 12 volts to the solenoid to cause it to open. just strip the wires about an inch from the electronic connector on the solenoid. Tap into the wires with your 12 volts. You should hear a "click" "click". That noise means that the solenoid is open. Once you have the solenoid open you may then use an external air compressor and a rubber air nozzle. Remove the air line from the bottom of the solenoid and place the air nozzle in that hole. When the bag is firm, remove the 12 volts from the wires. This will close the solenoid and hold the air in. Repeat the same process to fill all four bags.
p.s. I know it sounds difficult but believe it's not once you try it.

Some compressors come with a shrader valve where you can pump air in through the compressor using a tire chuck. Why they don't all have that I don't know. It might be a good idea to check your compressor to see if you were one of the "lucky ones".

That's always good news!! I was keeping my fingers crossed for the compressor, but to tell you the truth they didn't make many of them with the air chuck. If they all came with it then it would just be too easy for you to take to lincoln to fix.

I've seen them on both a mark 8 and a mark 7. I know that some of the Continentals had them but not many.

Like I said, If they put them on all the compressors then you wouldn't have to take your car to the dealerships for diagnostic. It would be an easier job for the consumer to do at home. Makes monetary since. The more complicated the system the more in house repairs the dealer will see.

Have 1990 CONTINENTAL air Ride OEM. System is variable. Sometimes it's the front and sometimes it's the rear that goes down (both left & right together). Sometimes disconnecting the battery cause a system reset - this allows for temporary perfect leveling (gets us out the driveway!). After a bit the front downs down (together Left and right). If parked for a couple of days the front always drops and the rear is way up. Can't find the air ride controller. Considering adding a manual pump with pressure indicator for manual control.
