Question about ALTEZZA tail lights! HELP!

I've noticed a huge price difference from $86 for a pair on ebay (to buy) to $245 on other websites. I carefully looked at both the lights and I don't see any difference. But, since I don't know ANYTHING about these lights, I would like opinions on these lights and why such a huge price difference? Is there such thing as authentic vs. fakes in these?
The lights are for a Jeep Cherokee by the way.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Dude, it's JUST CARS! Who cares? Why would you indentify yourself WITH A CAR? You're an INDVIDUAL before you're an OWNER OF A CAR!!!!
I've been made fun of or "flamed" for alot of things I WON, but does that make me a less of a person? NO!!!!
If you don't understand what I am saying, then you REALLY need to get your head examined for taking criticism for something so material so personally!!!! :)
P.S. Yes, I AM in the wrong forum when it comes to the CAR I own. But, when it comes to tail lights, I believe I am in the right forum. I broke the left tail light of my Jeep, and it costs over $80 to replace it. I've been lookin' around found that I could get a "pair" of ALTEZZA tail lights (dark or crystal, but I prefer dark) for the same price. It's THAT SIMPLE!!!!

You'll quickly discover in here, that dispite the stereotype Honda's have and dispite what looking at all the cars parked in the local high school parking lot might tell you, a good deal of the members in here dispise, hate, and generally don't like Altezzas.
Now, as for your question. They're all cheap, they all leak like crazy unless you reseal them (with the expection of TYC, they supposedly gaurentee them to be leak proof or they will replace them), and evem when you reseal them they sometimes leak. So now you have cheaply made water logged taillights all winter. My point is, Altezzas are cheap. Unless they are TYC tails, chances are they are the same cheap crap and will be leaky, so if you have your heart set on them, just save your $$ and buy the pair that costs less.
Also, if a taillight broke, and if it's $80 for the replacement, and either $86 or $245 for the pair, obviously $245 is a heck on a lot more (and a complete rip off). Either buy the OEM replacement for $80, or get the $86 pair of Altezzas if you really want to go that route. As I said, almost all Altezzas are cheap and leak, so save your $$ and buy the $86 pair if you end up getting some.
As I said earlier. Assuming you are in the right forum just because this is a Honda forum is ignorant and wrong. If you took the time to search and read up posts in here, you'd see a lot of the members in here can't stand Altezzas.

As I said above, most members in here don't like Altezzas. Thanks for validating my point Ricochet.
On a side note, I was beginning to wonder when you where going to post that wonderful pic up in here Ricochet?

The difference between the price is most likely because the expensive pair is street legal and the cheap pair isn't.
For taillights to be legal, there has to be red reflectors on them or somewhere on the back of your car (example being the new rx330), which the cheap pair mostly likely doesn't have.
So if you don't want to spend money placing red reflectors somewhere on your rear, get the expensive ones; If you're going to, then i guess the cheap ones will do.
Anyway, I say stick with your stock tails. Altezza's were cool back when I believed a muffler would give you 10hp. But thanks to af.com, i've been rightfully informed.

First off, the only company that makes tailights that are actually know to
be "street legel" is TYC. There's techincally more to legelaity than just the red relectors. They have to reflect enough, but not beyond a certain mamount, etc. However, these are federal safety laws. If you have 2 red relectors on your taillights (I think thats the number), then usually thats enough to be okay on the street, as far as law enforcement is concered.
As for the price variation, it likly doesn't have anything to do with "street legel or not." You can find HUGE variations in price between places you look/buy on the same exact taillights. I have seen TYC tails for a 92-95 civic 2dr/4dr for as low as $79.99 before and as high as $180, for the same exact lights, same manufacturer. It was just a higher price.
wow. i really like that picture ;]
I know, it's a great picture isn't it? It's classic.

considering how often this question gets asked or a similar question about altezzas, I vote that a mod takes this thread locks it, deletes every post except for the original question and ricochets answer then the above mentioned Mod will make it a sticky thread. Maybe people will get the point.
