ya for sure you are going to be super stoked! that is a pretty good buy. i hope you got the exhaust to really make that system complete :)

Seems like a good buy to me! Not only will you be getting the used items at low prices, but it will save you shipping costs and time spent looking for the items if you were to get them separately. A+ on the purchase, you're going to love the performance! Like Vince said, grab an exhaust and you're basically set for a turbo upgrade ;)

i was thinking about doing somthing diffrent with my exhaust. Run a actuated "y" pipe right off the downpipe and run a strait pipe to the side of my car, and run the stock exhaust off the other side. using a switch inside my car i will beable to switch between the two for race, and street.

that will be a sic setup! kinda james bondish, and a fabricators dream idea, but that would be sic as hell...

Very little fabricating required. These kits already exist and can be bought from several vendors. :)

Do a google search for something like Electric Exhaust Cutout, I got several manufactures, information, videos of them in action, etc.

well this is the one i was going to give a shot, i've been playing with photshop to decide where the best place to run the strait pipe. so far my 1st choice is through the sideskirt on my drivers side, right before my rear wheel. 2nd choice is running the strait pipe to a make it look like a dual exhaust, for more of a sleeper look.

Just put the y cutout in the downpipe and leave it there. Don't run a straight pipe to it. It will just be like running the car with an open downpipe. :2cents:

yeah, i know. i think for $180 and some time with the welder, it would be a preatty fine mod. im going to order it.

Look around for a better price IMO. I remember seeing one for a 100 a while back but I am not sure if it was electrical.

I've been thinking about doing this, just so I can go to a quieter muffler. Maybe an Edlebrock RPM... Not sure yet. All I know is I'm sick of being pulled over, but I dont want to give up the performance. :)
Another insteresting option I thought of is using the Warlock muffler. Checkout summit if you arent sure what this is. Rather than unbolt that cap everytime you want to go straight through, put the electric cutout on that. Same 3 bolt flange as the Y pipe I'm sure. Only thing stopping me is I heard the warlock doesnt flow very well. Wether or not its enough to really hinder street performance, I'm not sure. Bu hey, even if I lose 10-20 HP through, is it really that bad? Hmm. I might try it...

And actually, I know a guy with a 1g that ran one. He said uncapped his boost crept all the way to 26 psi :D So it must flow pretty damn well in straight through mode. Hmmm....

Why are you guys always trying to steal my ideas? :p I am hoping to have this cutout welded onto a 3" pressbent downpipe this weekend (hoping to get that done for $100), then I'm buying just the actuator from McCord performance for $110. A much better price than gay ass Qtec, IMO :D. This seems like the best thing to do if you want a relatively quiet car most of the time, but to open it up quickly and conveniently if you want.
Scottsee, you don't even need to run a straightpipe off of the Y split--you can run straight out the downpipe, just before the cat. That is my plan anyway, because I believe in the function of a catalytic converter for daily driving anyway!

what the hell is http://www.mccordcg.com.
i know i dont need to run pipes. its more of a visual. i probably wont do it. i saw a manual one from jc whitney for 35.99. but i like the idea of a toggel switch.
