PS2: Price of Persia:Sands of Time?

Does anyone have this game for the PS2? If so I was wondering if anyone had any problems with the game working? I bought it 3 days ago and when i put it in, everything loaded fine until the the menu screen. Then at the menu screen it flickers from bottom to top and keep scrolling thru (like you're holding the up arrow on the key pad). And when I can actually click on the New Game, the character runs to the left wall and runs against it and that's all I can do. I've tried 3 different controllers and made sure my other games work fine, so I know it's no my controllers being messed up. But I've exchanged it yesterday for another copy and still the same problem. Anyone have this problem or did Best Buy just sell me copies of bad games? I'm thinking about just returning it and getting another game. I'm just mad because I've never seen or had a game do this before and I've been waiting to play the game since it came out (and now that it's $20 I said WTH why not get it). And thoughts are greatly appreciated.

No scratches on either of them. But i fugured they were probably defects. When I used to work at Best Buy they had to check DVD's every once and a while (mostly pro wrestling dvd's for some reason). I just got a refund, didn't want to go thru the hastle of having to go back when the new copy did the same thing. At first they weren't going to give me my $ back and were jsut going to give me store credit (because of copyrite issues) but i knew the people at the desk so they hooked me up. Just pisses me off because every other store i went to the game was $40 or $50.

Sorry didn't realize that PS2 techinical questions didn't have anything to do with Electronics or Technology. I was asking more about whether anyone has encountered that problem with a game in general than just the one game. And newbie?? I've been here at least a year longer than you have jackass. If the mods want to move this then fine that's kool; otherwise unless you have something to add to this discussion then mind your damn business.:loser:

I just don't want to mess something up with the soldering, I've see diagrams where you have to wire the chip to and most of the spots are way too tiny for me to do it. And I don't know anyone who's a good solderer (I've even already got Alcohol 120% to burn them). I'm always keeping my eye out for a no hastle non-solder mod though, nothing seems like it's really reliable. I would just want to slap in the disc, sit down, and be able to play with no problems (I'm lazy:grinyes:).
