90 accord crank pulley/belt problem

I'm having a heck of a time trying to find out how to fix my problem. I don't know what the part is called (I'm used to domestic cars) but the serpentine belt "guide" that wraps around the crank pulley came ALL THE WAY OFF my 1990 Accord EX and starting rubbing against the other belt and creating quite the burnt rubber smell. Obviously, the alternator was inoperative and the A/C as well, but the car still ran off the battery. The tach and speedometer fell to 0 while driving, but the car still had get-up-and-go and functioned normally. The only reason I found out about it is when my idiot light came on for the battery cause the alt was not running! What is the "crank pulley belt guide" called, and should I fix it on my own or send the car to a shop (or donate it to charity)? I have mechanical skills with domestic cars. Thanks for any input!

very simple to do make sure your the ac. alt, and power steering pulleys are rotating fine replace both these belts at the same time adjust them so they are not to tight or they will sqeal to lose same problem they are easy to replace. the crank guide is behind the timing cover the is differnt altogether. the belt for ac, alt, just goes around ac, alt, and crank. the belt for pwer steering and around crank
