was checking out a j-book store yesterday and found that TEIN just released this remote stiffness control unit in japan. gonna order (direct) one probably for the g...maybe one for the lude too. cost is about 40,000yen or $325USD.

no more popping the hood open and the trunk liner. hehehehe

EDFC is the correct name for it, i guess. will be released 3/01/02. so not yet released. oh well.

it has 3 memory locations for your
"drag" or "mountain" or "higway" or whatever setting you wanna memorize. it even memorizes kanji-fonts so I'll put some thing like
n*E@@*@@߁[̂[łׂ

in there.

what exactly are you talking about, kenchan?
a remote unit of what? what is it use for?

it lets you setup your tein's damp settings from within your cockpit without having to have to open your hood, then the trunk liners to set the damp rate.

its a din size unit with 4 motorized switches that can set up to 3 memory settings. and it has 32 damp seting levels. meaning, the TEINS come mechanically with 16 damping settings on the knob but, it can now be set halfway to give 32 levels of damp settings. :D

cool? yeh, definitely. gonna get one? yah, two for me.

and its only like $325... include some airfreight...maybe $400 tops. installed within one week from order date. :p

there's like 8-9 kinds to match the shaft thickness, so when you guys order, make sure you get the right one. i need to ask TEIN which one ours is. will post after I find out.:smoker:

i saw the EDFC in the option magazine...that thing is so cool!! not that expensive and installation doesn't seem hard at all, just run some wires to the controller in dash to control the soleniod that's placed above the click-knob...good stuff!

oooh, now that's a catch. I suppose it can be channelled through the fender and into the cockpit?

yeh, worse comes to worst, that's what im thinking about doing...through the fender, through the door hinge area.

no one has fed anything rough the firewall?!

Well, can't you group the remote wire to the chunk of wires for the electrical components in the dashboard? I am sure there is a wiring housing of some sort that runs along the steering column and into the dash.

it's waaay easier to fit it through the firewall...i think tha'ts the correct way of doing so. it's not hard, find where the main ecu harness goes through, which is almost straight behind the glove compartment box, there is a big rubber plug, remove that, feed the lines through and plug it back in. simple.

well, that's an answer for you kenchan.
it's best that it comes from some body who stripped out the engine bay before.....;)
