VR4 questions

I don't own a VR-4, although I wish I had one and plan to get one some day. But i was wondering what kind of diff the VR-4 has. I guess since its all-wheel dirve it has a front, rear, and center. Are they all LSD, or just some? I'm pretty sure the EVO has a LSD in the rear and the center but not the front, and since its the same company I'd assume its the same set-up, but i figured I ask.

And just a another question, is it true that turbo's won't make boost when not under load, like say in nuetral. And Why? Is that why turbos in manuals loose boost in between shifts and autos don't?

I didn't know that autos kept their boost when it shifted  The car isn't producing the exuahst to power the the turbos so I wonder how it keeps it then... A supercharger keeps its boost because its driven by the engine, not the exhaust. But, check out http://www.howstuffworks.com/turbo.htm for a good write up on tubos.

As for the differential go to www.stealth316.com (http://www.stealth316.com) and entered the framed version. Select 'technical' on the right and you'll see The 3000GT AWD System (http://www.stealth316.com/2-awd.htm) :bigthumb:

yes, the auto does hold boost between gears, which also explains why we dont blow off between gears too. The reason we hold boost between gears is because we do not let the throttle plate close as the transmission shifts its gears, and in fact, while your shifting gears, you will generally spike another lb or two of boost, and then when it catches again, it levels back out to where the boost controller is set at.
