90 Accord Brake Rotors

My daughter has a 90 Honda Accord EX. She took it to have the front brakes redone & was told that she needed to replace the rotors. I've never worked on the brakes on this car so I'm not sure if I can undertake the job myself. Can I remove the rotors myself, or will She have to take it to someone that has the tools to press the rotor off? Is it true that the rotors have to be turned on the car & when they are removed they have to be pressed off? Thanks In Advance, Royce
