Did the officer say that he had you on radar, if so you have the right to see the radar. Is the witness your friend or not? Maybe you could get that witness to testify on your behalf. Maybe that will help.

$30 but it works really well.

check the ticket for how they busted you...it'll say on there somewhere and then use the stuff in BMST

you have the right to see the radar.

I am pretty sure the cop does not have to show you the radar.

This is not true in any state. For a discussion of this an some other speeding ticket myths go to
Speeding Ticket Myths (http://www.speedingticketcentral.com/speeding-ticket-urban-legends.html)

Since this is your first ticket you need to check if your state offers traffic school or a deferment and the speeding ticket not be reported on your record. Call or stop by and ask the clerk of court. Most of them are nice and will help if you also have the proper attitude.

Regardless of what the speeding ticket books tell you it is very difficult to beat a ticket in court unless you know what you are doing. This means taking up a lot of time and effort to visit the court, learn the procedures, and prepare your defense. Your goal is to keep the ticket off your record so your insurance will not go up. Fighting a losing battle for your first minor ticket is not the way to go.

Post your state, statute number on the ticket, and information from the clerk and I may be able to provide some further information.

i did 75 on a 30 plus it was a construction area it only came out to 130 bucks. and that was double! IWPAT is right it is true be nice. The options they gave me were community hours, defensive driving, or just to pay the ticket in full. I decided to pay it in full well actually my dad did since i'm not working, yeah and my mom can't find out since she pays for both my cars and their insurance. think about that.

Accually the cop does have to show you if you ask because of stuff like this. If u ever get pulled over for speeding and he says you were goin 72 but you were goin 60, If u ask the cop to see the radar gun for proof, by law he must show you. Also, if u have a witness saying that you were only goin 60 then bring your friend to court and fight it. You prolly wont get the ticket dropped but it will prolly get lowered atleast.
