I am adding bass. Although I dont plan to buy through Crutchfield, I took advantage of there great customer service. For my 350z, the rep suggested a pair of Sony XS-L101P5 10" 1000W subs and a Sony XM-D500X 1100W Mono Amp. Is this a good purchase? I have found these on the web for a grand total of $235 including shipping. Would this setup be a good choice? Any other recommendations?

pioneer is a good way to go. they are great speakers. I have 2 pioneer IMPP 12's in a bandpass box, with a 800RMS watt amp and it hits pretty hard.
what ever you choose, be wary of super cheap prices. always remember, you get what you pay for!
best buy is a good place to buy speakers, etc. because you cant get a warranty through them. warranties are great!! :grinyes:

no more that 500 and with this headunit i am getting it is already down to 300, so no more than 300. just recommend in that area, i will find it cheap. for example the subs i had listed above were refurbished for 95 bucks for the pair, shipping included. pretty cheap for those, but if those dont come recommended, i will stay away. do you have msn messenger karen?

Hey bud, I posted a link for a reason, there are tons of combos to choose from. Pick one that suits you. One sub should be fine. You will have to learn to make a box, not very hard, blueprints are on the site

get that damn ED deal, and IMO best buy is the worst place to buy speakers and amps, their salesmen couldn't know less about quality products....

wow, thanks for the link haibane. however, i really just dont understand all this stuff they are talking about. what is kv. 2 and nine.2? do they have photos and additional information about each package? this is way over my head, but eh combo 1 seems to be about in my price range, 220ish.

does kv2 refer to that model of sub that ED makes?
loismustdie
07-30-2004, 04:50 PM
yes, the kv2 is the model of the sub, and the nine.2 is the amp, it will give the sub 400 watts, but these subs and amps aren't even shipping for another 2-3 weeks, and that is probly gonna be pushed back, these subs have been delayed for almost a year, but if you don't want to wait, get an Oz audio matrix elite, and give it 500 watts.....

JL kickass. it's just as simple as that...
for the price of (2) entry level 12" W0's,
you can get one way better 10" W6 and
maybe even a 10" W7. then you can power
it with a JL250/1 it's perfect for the car you
got, the install you need, and the sound you
want on your budget...

what amp would you recomend soley for powering a single 10w6?

for the 10W6 I'd go with the 250/1.
for the 10W6v2 I'd go with the 500/1.

jl has good quality, but over priced, you can get the same sound for half price or around there, car audio is 20% equipment and 80% install :)
