The 1970 Hemi Challenger R/T may be the best Muscle Car!

I saw the thread started about the fastest muscle car. Good topic, but I think the answer isn't too far away.


Looks like the guys at Dream Car Garage created a Muscle Car Shootout that is airing on SPEED and they included a 1970 Hemi Challenger.

Unfortunately, the Hemi Challenger didn't do so well in the shootout, partly because of clutch problems.

I was shocked that it didn't do well in the slalom test! I think it came 6th in that one, beating only the Hurst Olds, which was another shock as I thought the Hurst folks would have done better suspension tuning than the factory-spec GM A-bodies would have had.

One can only hope that Legendary Motor Cars was as faithful to factory specs as they claimed to be.

I wonder how the Hemi 'cuda, with two inches less wheelbase and maybe a few pounds less, would have fared. Especially with a better clutch...
