The glow plug light in my 01 TDI, is flashing- but only after I've been driving for awhile. It stopped for a couple weeks, but it's happening all the time now. The dealership said my brake lights were going out- so I replaced them, and yet, the light came on again yesterday. Any ideas or suggestions?

Look in the manual to see if the '01 has a water seperator, that's what causes the light to flash on the earlier models. I think there's only the seperator in the fuel filter on tour model.

or its your break light switch it could be stuck on or bulbs burnt out it was happening to me check to see if your cruise control works when the lights blinking. and if its not its cause the car thinks the brakes are still on and cruise will not engage

That's exactly what I was thinking. I've heard of several people having this problem, and will eventually cause the battery to die while the car is parked because your brake-lights are always on.
Also, check out www.tdiclub.com if you haven't been there yet.

There is a recall on brake light switches.
Also, TDI's are so efficient that sometimes during highway driving the ECM turns on the glow plugs to keep the engine warm.
If your car has over 60k miles then you should replace your glow plugs if you already havent because they ALL go bad. I would reccomend the BERU plugs because they tend to last longer.
